So Long Killer Bee
It's been 2 years since i've been getting my allowance…
it's been months since I wanted to quit.. finally, I did it!
I am now quitting as part time radio dj and decided to focus on other things. I have slowly learned to let it go.. However, I know that I will truly miss it.
I was a Killerbee Campus Patroller (currently called the Junior Jocks).
I have co-hosted shows like Monday Sucks, Backstab Tuesday and Wednesday Night Confession (now its Friday Night Confessions). Back in those days it was Peter Cross who guided me all those nights that I felt I couldn't do it. Then he decided to pack up his bags and seek for greener pastures. I was passed on to another DJ - Gabee (the only lady dj of killerbee). We had nice conversations on air and even got to witness a big on air fight with Iceman — when Iceman and I had clashing personalities. Now, we're ok. Later on, Gabee got pregnant and had to leave the station. By then Rod joined the bees and was of course the new host for the nightly show with me still there. Oh the nights were funny and the punchlines keep going! Oh how I miss that! hehe
Then suddenly one day I was told that I will be doing a 4 hour shift.. made me giddy up inside.
I had so much passion with the work. Juggling my studies, thesis and radio. It was all good. Being in the radio business was fun. However, I didn't get to enjoy the sem breaks and xmas breaks that my classmates since it made no difference since I have to be at the station still. Months of being a student dj… I graduated last April 2005.. after which I got my first allowance from Killerbee.. been getting it since.. now it will be 2 years this May 2007… now the passion have died..
My passion did not die instantly.. but instead.. it died slowly… making me less and less anxious and less motivated about my work… i have no longer felt the enthusiasm that I should have felt by having people appreciate my work.. my work had become a routine to me.. in result to this.. my work had not been satisfactory since i wasn't that interested anymore.. aside from this, i have felt unrewarded… some of you guys already know this..
However, I would like to thank KILLERBEE for the opportunity. I have learned a lot from this radio station.
Now, starting this 20th of April, I will no longer be a Killerbee DJ. Yet, I will be back to being a Killerbee FAN. hehe
This Thursday will be my last boardwork — TNT 7pm to 12mn. It will be memorable to me. I would like to thank everybody who's been there for me. Thank you. For those people who want to be greeted.. Just post your comments here. So that at least, I can greet you on air as a dj for the last time. Sigh.. I can't believe I actually said "last time".
So long KILLERBEE! I will still be here for you guys!!
I'll be tuning in! — LISTEN LIVE!
